Crescent roll apple dumplings

Crescent Roll Apple Dumplings are a simple, sweet, and comforting dessert made by wrapping apple slices in crescent roll dough, then baking them with butter, sugar, and cinnamon. 🍎🥐


Ingredients (Makes 4–6 dumplings)

  • 1 can Crescent roll dough
  • 2–3 medium Apples, peeled, cored, and sliced into quarters
  • ½ cup Butter (melted)
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp Nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven

  • Preheat to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.

2. Prepare apples

  • Peel, core, and quarter apples.
  • Optional: toss with a little lemon juice to prevent browning.

3. Wrap apples

  • Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles.
  • Place an apple slice on the wide end of each triangle.
  • Fold sides over the apple and roll to seal at the tip.

4. Make syrup

  • In a small bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.

5. Assemble and bake

  • Place dumplings in the baking dish.
  • Pour the butter-sugar mixture over them.
  • Bake 30–35 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Spoon some of the pan syrup over the dumplings halfway through baking if desired.

6. Serve

  • Let cool slightly.
  • Optional: drizzle with icing or serve with vanilla ice cream. 🍨

Tips

  • Apple variety: Granny Smith for tartness, Honeycrisp for sweetness.
  • Extra flavor: Add a raisin or nut inside with the apple slice.
  • Make ahead: Assemble and refrigerate, then bake later.
