Here’s a classic and simple Tuna Fish Sandwich recipe—creamy, flavorful, and easy to make.

Classic Tuna Fish Sandwich

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (5 oz / 140 g) tuna in water or oil, drained
  • 2–3 tbsp mayonnaise (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, adds a little tang)
  • 1–2 tsp lemon juice (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1–2 tbsp finely chopped celery or pickles (optional, for crunch)
  • 4 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or your choice)
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, onion rings, or cheese

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the tuna salad
    • In a medium bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
    • Stir in celery or pickles if using. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  2. Assemble the sandwich
    • Spread tuna mixture on a slice of bread.
    • Add optional toppings like lettuce or tomato.
    • Cover with the second slice of bread.
  3. Serve
    • Cut sandwich in half, if desired, and serve immediately.
    • Can also be chilled for 30 minutes for a firmer texture.

✅ Tips:

  • For a creamier texture, use a bit more mayonnaise or stir in a teaspoon of sour cream.
  • Add a pinch of paprika or celery seed for extra flavor.
  • Toast the bread for added texture and warmth.

If you want, I can also give a gourmet tuna melt version with melted cheese and sautéed onions—it’s richer and perfect for lunch or dinner.

Do you want that version?
