Towel with orange stain

Posted on April 7, 2026 by Admin

An orange stain on a towel can come from a few common sources—figuring out the cause helps you remove it properly:

🟠 Common causes

  • Rust (iron in water or pipes) → leaves orange/brown marks
  • Makeup or self-tanner → often orange-tinted
  • Spices or food (like turmeric or curry) → bright orange/yellow stains
  • Body oils mixed with products → can oxidize and turn orange over time

🧼 How to remove it

1. For rust stains

  • Apply lemon juice + salt directly on the stain
  • Let it sit in sunlight for 30–60 minutes
  • Rinse and wash normally

2. For makeup/self-tanner

  • Rub in liquid detergent or dish soap
  • Let it sit for 10–15 minutes
  • Wash in warm water

3. For food/spice stains

  • Pre-treat with baking soda paste or detergent
  • Wash with warm water
  • Avoid heat drying until the stain is gone

⚠️ Important tips

  • Don’t use bleach immediately—it can set certain stains or react with minerals
  • Always test any treatment on a small hidden area first
  • Repeat treatment if needed before drying

If you tell me what the stain might be from (or its exact color/texture), I can give you a more precise fix 👍
