The 6-egg riddle

Posted on March 9, 2026 by Admin

The 6-egg riddle is a classic logic puzzle. It usually goes like this:

Riddle:

I have 6 eggs.
I break 2, I fry 2, and I eat 2.
How many eggs do I have left?

🧠 Answer

4 eggs left.

✔️ Explanation

  • The same 2 eggs can be broken, fried, and eaten.
  • So only 2 eggs are actually used.
  • Starting with 6 eggs:
    • 6 − 2 = 4 eggs remaining.

💡 Key Idea

The riddle tricks people into thinking 6 eggs were used (2 broken + 2 fried + 2 eaten), but it never says they are different eggs.
