Here’s a simple and delicious Slow Cooker Sausage Dip recipe—perfect for game days, parties, or a cozy snack. It’s creamy, cheesy, and full of savory sausage flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground breakfast sausage
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional for extra gooeyness)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies (like Rotel), drained slightly
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: chopped green onions or jalapeños for topping

Instructions

  1. Cook the sausage:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until fully browned and crumbled. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Combine in slow cooker:
    • Transfer the cooked sausage to your slow cooker.
    • Add cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella (if using), sour cream, diced tomatoes, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Slow cook:
    • Cover and cook on low for 2 hours or until cheeses are melted and the dip is hot.
    • Stir occasionally to ensure everything is well combined.
  4. Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped green onions or jalapeños if desired.
    • Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced baguette.

Tips

  • For a spicier kick, use spicy sausage or add hot sauce to taste.
  • You can make it ahead of time: Assemble in the slow cooker insert, refrigerate, and cook when ready.
  • Leftovers store well in the fridge for 3–4 days; reheat gently on low heat.
