Slow Cooker Sausage Dip

Posted on March 4, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, crowd-pleasing Slow Cooker Sausage Dip recipe — creamy, cheesy, and perfect for parties or game day 🧀🌭

🌭 Slow Cooker Sausage Dip

(Serves 6–8)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, removed from casing)
  • 1 (8 oz / 225 g) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 (10 oz / 280 g) can diced tomatoes with green chilies (like Rotel)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon chili powder or hot sauce for extra kick

Instructions

1️⃣ Cook Sausage

  1. Brown sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles.
  2. Drain excess fat.

2️⃣ Assemble in Slow Cooker

  1. Add cooked sausage, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, sour cream, diced tomatoes, onion, and garlic to the slow cooker.
  2. Stir to combine.

3️⃣ Cook

  • Cover and cook on low for 2–3 hours or high for 1–1.5 hours, stirring occasionally, until cheese is melted and dip is smooth.

4️⃣ Serve

  • Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced veggies.

💡 Tips

  • For extra creaminess, stir in a splash of milk before serving.
  • Add chopped bell peppers or jalapeños for more flavor and color.
  • Keeps well in the slow cooker on “warm” setting for a few hours for parties.

If you want, I can also give a “two-ingredient shortcut version” of slow cooker sausage dip using just sausage and a cheese dip mix for ultra-fast prep.
