🥬 Slow Cooker Cabbage (Savory Style)

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 1 medium green cabbage, chopped into chunks
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the cabbage: Remove the core and chop into large bite-sized pieces.
  2. Layer ingredients: Add cabbage, onion, and garlic to the slow cooker.
  3. Add seasoning: Sprinkle salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme over the top.
  4. Add liquid & fat: Pour in broth and dot with butter (or drizzle olive oil).
  5. Cook:
    • Low: 4–5 hours
    • High: 2–3 hours
      Cook until cabbage is tender but not mushy.
  6. Stir & serve: Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
