Shrimp Scampi (Classic Garlic Butter Style)
🧾 Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- ½ cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
- Juice of ½ lemon
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 8 oz linguine or spaghetti (optional, for serving)

- Cook pasta (if using)
Boil salted water and cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve ¼ cup pasta water before draining. - Sauté shrimp
Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper.
Cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove from pan and set aside. - Make garlic sauce
In the same pan, add remaining butter and garlic.
Sauté 30 seconds (don’t let it brown).
Add red pepper flakes and wine. Simmer 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly. - Finish
Stir in lemon juice and parsley.
Return shrimp to the pan and toss to coat.
If serving with pasta, add drained pasta and a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen sauce. - Serve immediately
Garnish with extra parsley and lemon wedges.
