Sausage sandwich

Posted on February 27, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a tasty and easy way to make a sausage sandwich that’s hearty and satisfying:

Ingredients (for 2 sandwiches)

  • 4 sausages (pork, chicken, or beef—your choice)
  • 2 sandwich rolls, baguettes, or ciabatta
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (optional)
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Condiments: mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, or your favorite sauce
  • Optional toppings: cheese slices, pickles, lettuce, or sauerkraut

Instructions

  1. Cook the sausages:
    • Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little oil.
    • Cook sausages until browned and fully cooked through (usually 8–12 minutes, turning occasionally).
  2. Sauté onions and peppers:
    • In the same skillet, add onions and bell peppers.
    • Cook until soft and lightly caramelized (about 5–7 minutes). Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Prepare the bread:
    • Slice the rolls and lightly toast them in the oven or skillet for extra texture.
  4. Assemble the sandwich:
    • Place cooked sausages in the bread.
    • Top with sautéed onions and peppers.
    • Add your favorite condiments and optional toppings.
  5. Serve:
    • Cut in half if desired and enjoy hot.

For a fun twist, you can also try cheesy sausage sandwiches by melting a slice of cheese over the hot sausage before assembling, or spicy sausage sandwiches with a dash of hot sauce.

If you want, I can give a gourmet version with caramelized onions, mustard mayo, and arugula that’s restaurant-style. Do you want me to make that version?
