Sausage and onions

Here’s a simple and tasty way to make Sausage and Onions 🍽️🌭🧅


Ingredients (Serves 2–3)

  • 4 Sausages (pork, beef, chicken, or your favorite type)
  • 2 medium Onions, sliced into rings or half-moons
  • 1–2 tbsp Olive Oil or butter
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 tsp Paprika, ½ tsp Thyme, or 1 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Cook the sausages
    • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add sausages and cook 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
    • Remove from pan and set aside.
  2. Sauté the onions
    • In the same skillet, add oil or butter if needed.
    • Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt.
    • Cook 5–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and caramelized.
  3. Combine sausages and onions
    • Return sausages to the pan with onions.
    • Add optional seasonings or balsamic vinegar.
    • Cook 2–3 more minutes to blend flavors.
  4. Serve hot
    • Great with mashed potatoes, rice, bread, or in a sandwich.

  • For extra flavor, pierce sausages lightly before cooking so they release juices into the onions.
  • You can add bell peppers for a colorful variation.
  • Leftovers taste great in breakfast scrambles or wraps.
