No need to scrub, just put the oven rack in a bag: it will come out looking brand new

Posted on April 5, 2026 by Admin

Ah yes! This is a super simple hack for cleaning oven racks—no scrubbing required. Here’s how it works:

🧼 Oven Rack Cleaning Hack

You’ll need:

  • Large trash bag (heavy-duty)
  • Baking soda or dishwasher detergent
  • Hot water
  • Optional: White vinegar

🥄 Steps

  1. Remove the oven racks
    • Take them out carefully and place them in the bag.
  2. Add cleaning agent
    • Sprinkle baking soda or dishwasher detergent over the racks.
  3. Add hot water
    • Pour enough hot water to partially submerge the racks.
  4. Seal the bag
    • Tie the bag securely so no water leaks out.
  5. Let it soak
    • Leave the racks in the bag overnight (8–12 hours).
  6. Check and rinse
    • The next day, remove the racks—they should be practically spotless.
    • Rinse with water and dry before putting back in the oven.

💡 Tips for Best Results:

  • If there’s stubborn grease, add a splash of white vinegar before sealing the bag.
  • This works because the detergent or baking soda breaks down grease and grime over time without scrubbing.
  • Always use heat-resistant gloves when handling hot water.

If you want, I can also share a shortcut using just dish soap and aluminum foil that gets racks sparkling in 30 minutes. Do you want me to do that?
