Here’s a simple and delicious way to use loquats: a Loquat Jam recipe. It highlights the fruit’s natural sweetness and is versatile for toast, desserts, or yogurt.

Loquat Jam Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups loquats, peeled, pitted, and chopped
  • 1 ½ cups sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the loquats: Wash the fruit, peel if needed, remove seeds, and chop into small pieces.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a medium saucepan, mix loquats, sugar, and lemon juice. Let sit 10–15 minutes for the fruit to release juice.
  3. Cook the jam: Heat the mixture over medium heat. Stir occasionally until it boils. Reduce heat and simmer for 25–30 minutes until it thickens.
  4. Optional spice: Add cinnamon near the end for extra flavor.
  5. Test for doneness: Place a small spoonful on a cold plate—if it gels, it’s ready.
  6. Jar it: Pour into sterilized jars, seal, and let cool. Store in the fridge for up to a month or process in a water bath for longer storage.

✅ Tip: You can also add a small amount of grated ginger or a splash of orange juice for a twist.

If you want, I can give you a loquat dessert recipe that’s more like a pie or tart—it’s fantastic for showcasing the fruit’s flavor. Do you want that version too?
