Ham and cheese roll

Here’s a simple and delicious Ham and Cheese Roll recipe—perfect as a snack, appetizer, or lunchbox treat.


Ingredients (Makes 8–10 rolls)

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (or crescent roll dough)
  • 6–8 slices of ham (deli or cooked)
  • 6–8 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your favorite)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: Dijon mustard or honey mustard for extra flavor

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Prepare Dough

  • Roll out puff pastry or crescent dough on a lightly floured surface.
  • Cut into rectangles or squares (roughly 3×4 inches).

3. Assemble Rolls

  • Place a slice of ham and cheese on each piece of dough.
  • Optionally, spread a thin layer of mustard on the dough before adding the ham and cheese.
  • Roll the dough over the filling and seal the edges by pinching or tucking underneath.

4. Egg Wash

  • Brush each roll with beaten egg to give a golden, shiny finish.

5. Bake

  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.

6. Serve

  • Let cool for a few minutes, then enjoy warm.
  • Great served with ketchup, mustard, or a dipping sauce.

💡 Tips:

  • Add herbs like parsley or thyme to the cheese for extra flavor.
  • Mini rolls are perfect for parties or snack platters.
  • You can also add a slice of tomato or cooked bacon for a twist.
