Gooey brownie pie

A gooey brownie pie is basically the best parts of a fudgy brownie and a rich chocolate pie combined—crackly top, soft center, and a molten, almost lava-like middle when warm.

Here’s a simple homemade version:


🍫 Gooey Brownie Pie Recipe

🧾 Ingredients

  • ½ cup (115g) butter
  • 1 cup (200g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup (35g) cocoa powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional but highly recommended)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat

Heat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a pie dish (9-inch).


2. Melt butter

Melt butter in a saucepan or microwave. Let it cool slightly.


3. Mix wet ingredients

Whisk melted butter + sugar until glossy.
Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.


4. Add dry ingredients

Mix in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined (don’t overmix).


5. Add chocolate chips

Fold in chocolate chips for extra gooey pockets.


6. Bake

Pour into pie dish and bake for:

  • 25–30 minutes for super gooey center
  • 30–35 minutes for slightly firmer texture

The center should look slightly underbaked—that’s what you want.


7. Cool (important)

Let it rest for at least 15–20 minutes so it sets but stays soft inside.


🍨 Serving ideas

  • Warm with vanilla ice cream 🍦
  • Drizzle with chocolate sauce
  • Sprinkle with sea salt for contrast

💡 Tip for maximum gooeyness

Don’t overbake—pull it out when the edges are set but the middle still jiggles slightly.
