🥔 Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Creamy, buttery, and full of garlic flavor — a perfect side for roasts, chicken, or steak.

🛒 Ingredients

  • 2 lbs potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet)
  • 4–6 cloves garlic, peeled
  • ½ cup butter (1 stick), room temperature
  • ½–¾ cup milk or heavy cream, warmed
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

🔪 Instructions

1️⃣ Prep & Boil

  • Peel (optional) and cut potatoes into evenly sized chunks.
  • Place potatoes and garlic cloves in a large pot.
  • Cover with cold water, add 1 tsp salt, and bring to a boil.
  • Simmer 15–20 minutes until potatoes are fork-tender.

2️⃣ Drain & Mash

  • Drain water and return potatoes and garlic to the pot.
  • Mash using a potato masher, ricer, or electric hand mixer.

3️⃣ Add Butter & Cream

  • Stir in butter until melted.
  • Gradually add warm milk or cream until desired consistency.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4️⃣ Serve

  • Transfer to a serving dish.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or a pat of butter.

💡 Tips

  • For extra silky potatoes, use a ricer or food mill.
  • Roast garlic beforehand for a sweeter, milder flavor.
  • Substitute cream with sour cream or cream cheese for tanginess.
  • Keep warm in a covered dish or slow cooker until serving.

I can also give you a roasted garlic mashed potato version or garlic parmesan mashed potatoes for a more flavorful twist.
