    • Lettuce, tomato, or avocado
    • Bacon or ham

Instructions

  1. Cook the eggs
    • Fried style: Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Crack eggs into the pan and cook to desired doneness (sunny-side up, over-easy, or over-hard).
    • Scrambled: Beat eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour into a heated, buttered skillet, and stir gently until fully cooked.
  2. Toast the bread
    • Toast slices until golden brown. You can butter them lightly if desired.
  3. Assemble the sandwich
    • Place the cooked egg on one slice of bread.
    • Add optional toppings (cheese, bacon, vegetables, condiments).
    • Top with the second slice of bread.
  4. Serve
    • Cut in half if desired and serve warm.
