Crispy Fried Mushrooms

Posted on April 4, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious way to make crispy fried mushrooms that are golden on the outside and tender inside:

🍄 Ingredients

  • 250–300 g fresh mushrooms (button, cremini, or shiitake)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (panko works best for extra crunch)
  • 1–2 eggs, beaten
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika, or herbs for extra flavor
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or sunflower)

🥘 Step-by-Step

1. Prepare the mushrooms

  • Clean mushrooms gently with a damp cloth (don’t soak them)
  • Trim stems if needed

2. Set up a breading station

  • Plate 1: Flour + a pinch of salt and pepper
  • Plate 2: Beaten eggs
  • Plate 3: Breadcrumbs + optional seasonings

3. Coat the mushrooms

  • Dredge each mushroom in flour → dip in egg → roll in breadcrumbs

4. Frying

  • Heat ½ inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat
  • Fry mushrooms 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown
  • Drain on paper towels

5. Serve hot

  • Great with garlic aioli, ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauce

🍴 Tips for Extra Crispiness

  • Use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs
  • Make sure the oil is hot enough (around 180°C / 350°F)
  • Fry in small batches to avoid lowering oil temperature

If you want, I can give you a baked version that’s crispy but healthier—no deep frying required. Do you want me to do that?
