For the Icing:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Make the dough:
    • In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with 1 teaspoon sugar. Let sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine yeast mixture, remaining sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and flour.
    • Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  2. Let dough rise:
    • Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–2 hours, until doubled in size.
  3. Prepare filling:
    • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
    • Spread softened butter over rolled-out dough. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar evenly.
  4. Roll & cut:
    • Roll dough into a rectangle (~16×12 inches).
    • Roll tightly from the long edge. Cut into 12 even rolls.
  5. Second rise:
    • Place rolls in a greased baking pan. Cover and let rise 30–45 minutes.
  6. Bake:
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. Add icing:
    • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm rolls.
