🥬 Cabbage Wedges

Cabbage wedges are a simple, healthy side dish made by cutting cabbage into thick wedges and roasting, baking, or pan-searing them until tender and slightly crispy.


🧾 Ingredients

  • 1 medium cabbage
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil (or cooking oil)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional)
  • Lemon wedges (optional for serving)

👩‍🍳 Instructions (Oven Method)

1️⃣ Preheat the oven

  • Set oven to 200°C (400°F).

2️⃣ Prepare the cabbage

  • Remove outer leaves.
  • Cut cabbage into 6–8 thick wedges, keeping the core so they hold together.

3️⃣ Season

  • Place wedges on a baking tray.
  • Brush or drizzle with oil.
  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, and spices.

4️⃣ Roast

  • Roast for 25–30 minutes, turning once halfway, until edges are golden and slightly crispy.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Squeeze lemon juice on top or sprinkle herbs.

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • Serve with grilled chicken, fish, or rice dishes
  • Add parmesan cheese or yogurt sauce
  • Drizzle with garlic butter

💡 Tips

  • Don’t cut wedges too thin or they may fall apart.
  • High heat helps make the edges caramelized and crispy.
  • You can also cook wedges in a pan with butter and garlic for a quick version.
