Here’s a clear guide for making perfect boiled eggs, whether you like them soft, medium, or hard:


Perfect Boiled Eggs Recipe

Ingredients

  • Eggs (as many as you need)
  • Water (enough to cover the eggs)
  • Optional: Salt or vinegar (helps prevent cracking)

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a pot: Arrange eggs in a single layer in a saucepan.
  2. Add water: Fill the pot with cold water until eggs are covered by about 1 inch.
  3. Optional step: Add 1 tsp salt or 1 tbsp vinegar to reduce cracking.
  4. Bring to a boil: Heat over medium-high heat until water reaches a rolling boil.
  5. Turn off heat and cover: Once boiling, remove from heat, cover the pot, and set a timer depending on desired doneness:
    • Soft-boiled: 4–6 minutes (runny yolk)
    • Medium-boiled: 7–9 minutes (slightly soft yolk)
    • Hard-boiled: 10–12 minutes (fully set yolk)
  6. Cool immediately: Transfer eggs to a bowl of ice water for 5–10 minutes. This stops cooking and makes peeling easier.
  7. Peel and serve: Tap gently to crack the shell and peel under running water if needed.

💡 Tips:

  • Older eggs peel more easily than very fresh ones.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle salt, pepper, or paprika before serving.
  • Store unpeeled boiled eggs in the fridge for up to one week.
