Boiled egg

A boiled egg is an egg cooked in its shell in hot water until the inside solidifies.

🥚 Types of boiled eggs

  • Soft-boiled egg: yolk is runny or jam-like
  • Medium-boiled egg: yolk partly set
  • Hard-boiled egg: yolk fully firm

🍳 How to boil eggs (simple method)

  1. Put eggs in a pot
  2. Cover with cold water
  3. Bring to a boil
  4. Turn off or lower heat and time it:
  • Soft: 4–6 minutes
  • Medium: 7–9 minutes
  • Hard: 10–12 minutes
  1. Put in cold water to stop cooking
