BBQ baked sausages

Here’s a simple and tasty recipe for BBQ Baked Sausages—perfect for a quick meal or party!


Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 8–10 sausages (pork, beef, or chicken)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, sliced (optional)
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a baking tray with foil for easy cleanup.

2. Prepare the Sausages

  • Place sausages on the tray.
  • If using onions and peppers, arrange them around the sausages.
  • Brush sausages with a little olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper.

3. Bake

  • Bake for 20 minutes, turning sausages halfway through.
  • Remove tray from oven and brush sausages generously with barbecue sauce.

4. Finish Baking

  • Return sausages to oven and bake for another 10–15 minutes, until sausages are cooked through (internal temp 160–165°F / 71–74°C for pork/beef, 165°F / 74°C for chicken) and the sauce is slightly caramelized.

5. Serve

  • Serve hot with extra barbecue sauce, buns, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.

Tips

  • For extra flavor: Marinate sausages in barbecue sauce for 30–60 minutes before baking.
  • Crispier skin: Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end of baking.
  • Add smoky flavor: Sprinkle smoked paprika or a few drops of liquid smoke into the sauce.

💡 Shortcut idea: You can also cook sausages in a foil packet with BBQ sauce to keep them extra juicy and infuse more flavor.
