Baked sweet potato

Posted on March 11, 2026March 11, 2026 by Admin

Baked Sweet Potato is a simple, nutritious dish where sweet potatoes are roasted until soft and naturally sweet. It’s warm, comforting, and versatile—perfect as a side or a base for savory or sweet toppings. 🍠✨

📝 Ingredients

  • 2–4 medium Sweet Potatoes
  • 1–2 tsp olive oil (optional)
  • Salt (optional)
  • Optional toppings: butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, sour cream, cheese, or herbs

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Set to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Prepare sweet potatoes
    • Wash and scrub potatoes.
    • Pat dry.
    • Optional: lightly coat with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  3. Pierce
    • Use a fork to poke a few holes in each potato (prevents bursting).
  4. Bake
    • Place on a baking sheet.
    • Bake for 45–60 minutes, until tender when pierced with a fork.
  5. Serve
    • Cut open and fluff the inside with a fork.
    • Add desired toppings, e.g., butter, cinnamon, or cheese.

🍽️ Tips

  • For a crispy skin, leave them unwrapped and brush lightly with oil.
  • Sweet potatoes pair well with savory toppings like black beans, feta, or chili.
  • You can also microwave them for a quicker version (about 8–12 minutes depending on size).

If you want, I can give a stuffed baked sweet potato recipe or a cinnamon-sugar dessert version that’s super cozy.
