Cheeseburger Pie

Posted on March 6, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for a Cheeseburger Pie—a hearty, savory dish that tastes just like a cheeseburger in pie form. Perfect for dinner or potlucks!

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

For the crust

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour if needed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 4–5 tablespoons cold water

For the filling

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup or tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (optional)
  • 1/2 cup pickles, chopped (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  2. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add cold water until dough comes together.
  4. Roll out dough and line a 9-inch pie dish, trimming edges.

2. Cook the Filling

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. Stir in ketchup and mustard (if using). Remove from heat.

3. Assemble the Pie

  1. Pour the beef mixture into the prepared crust.
  2. Sprinkle shredded cheddar evenly over the top.
  3. Add chopped pickles if desired.

4. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cheese is melted and bubbly.

5. Serve

  • Let cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with extra ketchup, mustard, or a side salad.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra cheesy: Mix cheese into the beef mixture before baking.
  • Veggie boost: Add diced bell peppers or mushrooms to the beef filling.
  • Quick version: Use a ready-made pie crust to save time.
  • Mini pies: Make in muffin tins for fun individual servings.

💡 Fun twist: Sprinkle some sesame seeds on the crust to mimic a cheeseburger bun.

If you want, I can give a gluten-free or low-carb version that’s perfect for a healthier cheeseburger pie.

Do you want me to do that?
