Bacon

Posted on March 3, 2026 by Admin

Bacon is a salt-cured pork product, usually made from the belly or back of a pig. It’s known for its smoky flavor and crispy texture when cooked.

🥓 Types of Bacon

  • Streaky bacon (American bacon) – From pork belly; fatty and crispy when fried
  • Back bacon (Canadian bacon) – Leaner; from the loin
  • Turkey bacon – Made from turkey; lower in fat
  • Pancetta – Italian-style cured pork belly, usually unsmoked

🍳 How to Cook Bacon

Pan-fry (most common):

  1. Place strips in a cold pan.
  2. Cook on medium heat.
  3. Turn occasionally until crispy.
  4. Drain on paper towel.

Oven method (less mess):

  • Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes.

Air fryer:

  • 350–375°F (175–190°C) for 8–12 minutes.

Bacon is tasty but high in salt and saturated fat, so it’s best enjoyed in moderation.
