Cinnamon Sugar Donut Muffins

🍩 Cinnamon Sugar Donut Muffins

Soft, fluffy muffins that taste just like cake donuts — coated in buttery cinnamon sugar while warm.


🛒 Ingredients (Makes 12)

Muffins

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg (optional, but very “donut shop”)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1–2 tsp ground cinnamon

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 12-cup muffin tin.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter and sugar. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients just until mixed (don’t overmix).
  5. Fill muffin cups about ¾ full.
  6. Bake 18–20 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool 5 minutes, then dip each muffin in melted butter.
  8. Roll in cinnamon sugar until fully coated.

💡 Tips

  • Best enjoyed warm.
  • For extra donut flavor, add a pinch more nutmeg.
  • Try filling with jam or Nutella before baking for a surprise center.
