🧾 Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon oil or melted butter
  • ~3/4 cup milk (or water)

🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Dough

  • In a bowl, mix:
    • Flour, baking powder, salt, sugar
  • Add oil and mix
  • Gradually add milk and knead into a soft dough

👉 Let it rest for 5 minutes (optional but helps softness)


2️⃣ Shape the Bread

  • Divide dough into small portions
  • Roll each into a flat round or oval shape (like naan or roti)

3️⃣ Cook on Pan (Tawa)

  • Heat a pan on medium heat
  • Place bread on the hot pan
  • Cook until bubbles form, then flip
  • Press lightly and cook until golden spots appear on both sides

4️⃣ Optional Finish

  • Brush with butter or ghee for extra softness and flavor

  • With curry, eggs, or chicken
  • Use as wraps or sandwiches
  • Serve with butter, honey, or jam

💡 Tips

  • Don’t make the dough too hard—soft dough = soft bread
  • Medium heat is key (too high burns, too low dries it out)
  • Add garlic, herbs, or sesame seeds for extra flavor
