🌯 Tortilla Wraps with Ground Beef

🍽 Serves: 4–6

⏱ Total Time: 30 minutes

🧂 Ingredients:

For the Beef Filling:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade – see below)

  • 1/2 cup water

  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the Wraps:

  • 4–6 large flour tortillas (or whole wheat/tomato/spinach wraps)

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce

  • 1–2 tomatoes, diced

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)

  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • 1/2 cup salsa, guacamole, or hot sauce

  • Optional: jalapeños, black olives, corn, or avocado slices

🔥 Instructions:

1. Cook the beef:

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.

  • Add ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until beef is browned and onion is soft (about 8–10 minutes). Drain excess fat.

  • Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.

  • Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

2. Warm the tortillas:

  • Heat tortillas in a dry skillet for 10–20 seconds on each side or wrap in foil and warm in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 5–10 minutes.

3. Assemble the wraps:

  • Place a warm tortilla on a plate.

  • Spoon some of the beef mixture into the center.

  • Add lettuce, tomato, cheese, and your choice of toppings.

  • Drizzle with sour cream or salsa.

4. Wrap it up:

  • Fold in the sides, then roll up from the bottom tightly like a burrito or leave open like a taco-style wrap.

🌮 Homemade Taco Seasoning (Optional):

Mix together:

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp cumin

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp onion powder

  • 1/4 tsp oregano

  • Salt & pepper to taste

📝 Tips:

  • Meal prep: Make the beef ahead and store in the fridge for up to 4 days.

  • Low-carb option: Use low-carb tortillas or large lettuce leaves as wraps.

  • Kid-friendly: Skip spicy toppings and add shredded cheese with ketchup or plain yogurt.
