What They Are

Halloumi Bites are small, golden cubes of halloumi cheese that are fried, grilled, or baked. They stay chewy inside while getting a crispy, savory crust outside. Perfect as an appetizer, party snack, or vegetarian-friendly finger food.


Simple Recipe: Crispy Halloumi Bites

Ingredients (2–3 servings):

  • 250g halloumi, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tbsp flour or cornstarch
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil
  • Lemon wedges & dipping sauce (sweet chili, tzatziki, or garlic aioli)

Instructions:

  1. Prep: Pat halloumi cubes dry.
  2. Coat: Toss cubes in flour, paprika, and pepper.
  3. Cook: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry cubes 2–3 min per side until golden.
  4. Serve: Drain briefly, serve warm with lemon wedges and dip.

Optional Tips:

  • Add fresh herbs (parsley, mint) for freshness.
  • Drizzle honey for a sweet-salty twist.
  • For extra crunch, coat in breadcrumbs and bake at 200°C (400°F) for 10–12 min.
