Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed

  • 1/3 cup melted butter

  • 3/4 cup sugar (can reduce to 1/2 cup for less sweet)

  • 1 large egg, beaten

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

  2. Mix wet ingredients:
    In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas with melted butter.
    Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.

  3. Add dry ingredients:
    Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture, stir in.
    Add flour and mix until just combined — don’t overmix.

  4. Bake:
    Pour batter into the greased loaf pan.
    Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    If the top browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil.

  5. Cool:
    Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
