Making a poached egg in an air fryer is possible β€” and surprisingly easy β€” with the right method! While it’s not exactly like a traditional water-poached egg, it can still give you a soft, runny yolk and tender white using a ramekin or silicone cup.

🍳 Air Fryer Poached Egg

⏱ Time: 8–10 minutes

🍴 Serves: 1 (easy to multiply)

πŸ§‚ Ingredients:

  • 1 fresh egg

  • 2–3 tbsp water

  • Cooking spray or oil (optional, for easy release)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

🍳 Tools Needed:

  • Small ramekin, silicone muffin cup, or heat-safe dish that fits in your air fryer

πŸ”₯ Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 340Β°F (170Β°C) for 2–3 minutes.

  2. Prepare the ramekin:

    • Lightly grease with oil or cooking spray.

    • Add 2–3 tablespoons of water.

  3. Crack the egg into the ramekin gently (don’t break the yolk).

  4. Place carefully in the air fryer basket.

  5. Air fry at 340Β°F (170Β°C) for:

    • 6–7 minutes for runny yolk

    • 8–9 minutes for medium

    • 10 minutes for firm yolk
(Exact timing may vary based on your air fryer model.)

  6. Remove carefully with tongs or oven mitts β€” it will be hot!

  7. Drain off water with a slotted spoon or tilt gently, then serve on toast, salad, or however you like.

πŸ“ Tips:

  • Fresh eggs hold their shape better β€” avoid older eggs.

  • You can test with one egg first to get timing perfect for your air fryer.

  • Add a little vinegar to the water (optional) to help whites set faster.
