Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 2 lbs (900 g) chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Honey Butter Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup (60 g) unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup (85 g) honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional, for umami)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the wings
    • Pat wings dry and separate into drumettes and wingettes.
    • Toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  2. Cook the wings
    • Oven method: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Bake wings on a lined baking sheet for 35–40 minutes, flipping halfway.
    • Grill method: Preheat grill to medium-high (375–400°F / 190–200°C). Grill wings for 20–25 minutes, turning often.
  3. Make the honey butter sauce
    • In a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter.
    • Stir in honey, minced garlic, chili flakes, and soy sauce. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Coat the wings
    • Toss cooked wings in the warm honey butter sauce until fully coated.
    • Optional: Return to oven or grill for 2–3 minutes to let sauce stick.
  5. Serve
    • Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley or green onions if desired.

💡 Tips

  • Extra crispy: Bake wings on a wire rack over the baking sheet so heat circulates evenly.
  • Adjust sweetness: Add more or less honey depending on taste.
  • Make it spicy: Increase chili flakes or drizzle sriracha over finished wings.
