Here’s a simple and delicious Crescent Roll Apple Dumplings recipe—sweet, gooey, and perfect for dessert:


Ingredients (makes 4 dumplings):

  • 4 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
  • ¼ cup butter (1/2 stick), melted
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • ¼ cup water
  • Optional: vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven:
    • 190°C (375°F). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the apples:
    • Peel, core, and cut apples in half or quarters (depending on size).
    • If desired, sprinkle with a bit of lemon juice to prevent browning.
  3. Prepare crescent dough:
    • Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into triangles.
    • Wrap each apple piece in a triangle of dough, tucking the edges underneath.
  4. Prepare syrup:
    • In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
    • Place the wrapped apples in the baking dish and pour the syrup evenly over them.
    • Add ¼ cup water to the dish to keep dumplings moist while baking.
  5. Bake:
    • 35–40 minutes, until dough is golden and apples are tender.
  6. Serve:
    • Spoon syrup over dumplings.
    • Optional: top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream while warm.

Tips:

  • Choose firm apples so they don’t turn mushy during baking.
  • For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract or a pinch of cloves to the syrup.
  • Can make mini dumplings using apple slices instead of whole apples.
