🍚 Slow Cooker Rice Pudding

Slow cooker rice pudding is a creamy dessert made by slowly cooking rice with milk, sugar, and flavorings in a slow cooker (crockpot). The slow cooking allows the rice to absorb the milk and become soft, thick, and rich with minimal effort.

🛒 Ingredients

  • ¾ cup uncooked rice (short-grain or medium-grain works best)
  • 4 cups milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Optional: raisins or nuts

🍳 Instructions

  1. Grease the slow cooker lightly with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Add ingredients: rice, milk, sugar, salt, cinnamon, butter, and optional raisins.
  3. Stir well to combine.
  4. Cook on LOW for 2½–3 hours or until the rice is tender and the pudding thickens.
  5. Stir occasionally if possible to prevent sticking.
  6. Add vanilla near the end of cooking and mix well.

🍨 Serving Ideas

  • Sprinkle extra cinnamon or nutmeg on top
  • Add fresh fruit like berries or sliced bananas
  • Drizzle with honey or caramel sauce

💡 Tips

  • If the pudding becomes too thick, stir in a little warm milk.
  • Short-grain rice gives a creamier texture than long-grain rice.
  • It can be served warm or chilled.

If you want, I can also share 3 popular variations:

  • Old-fashioned creamy rice pudding
  • Coconut slow cooker rice pudding
  • Condensed milk rice pudding (extra rich).
