Broken zipper

Posted on March 2, 2026 by Admin

Ah! You mean the “Broken Zipper” dessert—a fun, no-bake treat that looks like a zipper but is actually sweet and edible. Here’s a classic recipe you can try:

Broken Zipper Treats

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows or white chocolate chips (for “teeth”)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the base:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, and melted butter.
    • Press the mixture firmly into a rectangular pan (8×8 or 9×9 works).
  2. Chocolate layer:
    • Melt chocolate chips (and peanut butter, if using) in a microwave or double boiler.
    • Spread evenly over the graham cracker base.
  3. Make the “zipper teeth”:
    • Place mini marshmallows or small white chocolate chips in two rows along the center of the chocolate layer, mimicking zipper teeth.
  4. Create the “zipper pull”:
    • Use a small piece of chocolate or peanut butter candy to form the zipper pull at one end.
  5. Chill & serve:
    • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set.
    • Cut into bars and serve your “broken zipper” treats!

If you want, I can also give a simpler, 5-minute microwave version that doesn’t require baking or melting on a stove. It’s even more playful for kids.

Do you want me to share that version too?
