Solo garlic

Posted on February 28, 2026 by Admin

Ah! You mean a recipe that highlights garlic on its own — often called “Solo Garlic” or “Whole Roasted Garlic”. Here’s a simple way to enjoy garlic as the star:

🧄 Solo Garlic (Whole Roasted Garlic)

Sweet, caramelized, and creamy garlic you can spread on bread, mix into mashed potatoes, or use in sauces.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole head of garlic
  • 1–2 tsp olive oil
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare garlic:
    • Slice off the top ¼ inch of the garlic head to expose the cloves.
    • Place on a piece of foil or in a small baking dish.
  3. Drizzle:
Drizzle olive oil over the exposed cloves and sprinkle lightly with salt.
  4. Wrap and roast:
    • Wrap the garlic head in foil (or cover with a small dish).
    • Roast 35–45 minutes until cloves are golden brown and soft.
  5. Cool & serve:
Let cool slightly. Squeeze or scoop out the soft cloves. Mash with a fork and use as a spread, condiment, or ingredient in recipes.

Tips & Variations

  • Microwave shortcut: Wrap garlic in a damp paper towel and microwave 3–4 minutes until soft.
  • Herb-infused: Add thyme, rosemary, or oregano before roasting.
  • Storage: Roasted garlic keeps in a small airtight container in the fridge up to 2 weeks.

This “solo garlic” becomes mild, buttery, and naturally sweet — completely different from raw garlic.

If you want, I can also give a “Solo Garlic Pasta” recipe where roasted garlic is the only seasoning for a delicious minimalist dish. Do you want me to do that?
