Cheddar cheese bread

Here’s a soft, savory cheddar cheese bread 🧀🍞 with a golden crust and cheesy pockets throughout.


🧀 Cheddar Cheese Bread (No Yeast – Quick Bread)

Ingredients (1 loaf)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup melted butter or oil

Instructions

1️⃣ Prep

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

2️⃣ Mix Dry

  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and pepper.
  • Stir in shredded cheddar.

3️⃣ Mix Wet

  • In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, and melted butter.

4️⃣ Combine

  • Pour wet into dry ingredients.
  • Stir just until combined (don’t overmix).

5️⃣ Bake

  • Pour into loaf pan.
  • Bake 45–55 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool 10 minutes before slicing.

🔥 Extra Flavor Ideas

  • Add chopped jalapeños 🌶️
  • Mix in cooked bacon bits
  • Sprinkle extra cheese on top before baking
  • Brush top with melted butter after baking
