Ham and cheese sandwich

A ham and cheese sandwich is simple, classic, and easy to customize. Here’s a basic version plus a few tasty variations.

🥪 Classic Ham & Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, sourdough, etc.)
  • 2–3 slices of ham
  • 1–2 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, provolone)
  • Butter or mayonnaise (optional)
  • Mustard (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Spread butter or mayo on one or both slices of bread.
  2. Layer ham evenly on one slice.
  3. Add cheese on top of the ham.
  4. Add mustard if desired.
  5. Close the sandwich, slice, and serve.

🔥 Grilled Ham & Cheese (Hot Version)

  1. Assemble sandwich with butter on the outside of the bread.
  2. Cook in a skillet over medium heat 2–4 minutes per side.
  3. Flip when golden brown and cook until cheese melts.

🥗 Upgrade Ideas

  • Add tomato, lettuce, or pickles.
  • Use honey mustard or Dijon.
  • Try it on a croissant.
  • Add a fried egg for extra protein.
  • Use smoked ham for deeper flavor.
