Beef Pot Roast

Here’s a classic, tender Beef Pot Roast recipe—slow-cooked, juicy, and full of flavor.


🥩 Beef Pot Roast (Easy Slow Cooker Style)

🧾 Ingredients

  • 1.5–2 kg beef chuck roast
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 3–4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 3 carrots (chunky pieces)
  • 3 potatoes (halved)
  • 2 cups beef stock or water
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary

🍳 Instructions

1. Sear the beef

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Brown the beef on all sides

2. Build the base

  • In slow cooker or pot, add onions, garlic, carrots, and potatoes
  • Place seared beef on top

3. Add liquid & seasoning

  • Mix beef stock with tomato paste, salt, pepper, herbs
  • Pour over beef and vegetables

4. Cook slowly

Slow cooker:

  • Low: 8–9 hours
  • High: 4–5 hours

Stovetop:

  • Simmer on very low heat for 3–4 hours

5. Finish

  • Beef should be soft and easily shreddable
  • Adjust salt and pepper before serving

💡 Tips

  • Chuck roast works best (becomes tender slowly)
  • Don’t rush cooking—low heat = soft meat
