Hard-boiled egg

Posted on April 14, 2026 by Admin

A hard-boiled egg is an egg (usually chicken egg) that is cooked in boiling water until both the white and yolk become solid.

🥚 What it is

  • Shell remains intact while boiling
  • Inside becomes fully cooked and firm
  • No runny yolk (unlike soft-boiled eggs)

🔥 How it’s made

  1. Place eggs in water
  2. Bring to a boil
  3. Simmer for ~8–12 minutes
  4. Cool in cold water (helps peeling)

🧠 Nutrition (why people eat it)

A hard-boiled egg is very nutrient-dense:

  • High-quality protein
  • Healthy fats
  • Vitamins: B12, D, A
  • Minerals: iron, selenium

💪 Health benefits

  • Supports muscle building
  • Helps keep you full longer
  • Good for brain and eye health (choline + antioxidants)

⚠️ Things to know

  • Egg yolk contains cholesterol (safe for most people in moderation)
  • Overcooking can create a green ring around yolk (iron-sulfur reaction, harmless but less tasty)

🧠 Bottom line

Hard-boiled eggs are a simple, cheap, and highly nutritious food, great for breakfast or snacks.

If you want, I can also compare boiled vs fried vs raw eggs or tell you how many eggs per day are safe.
