Oven cleaning trick

Posted on April 6, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, effective oven cleaning trick using items you likely already have at home:

Baking Soda & Vinegar Method

You’ll need:

  • Baking soda
  • Water
  • White vinegar
  • Spray bottle
  • Cloth or sponge

Steps:

  1. Remove oven racks and soak them in warm, soapy water.
  2. Make a paste: Mix ½ cup baking soda with a few tablespoons of water until spreadable.
  3. Apply the paste: Spread the baking soda paste inside the oven, avoiding heating elements. Focus on areas with grease and baked-on food.
  4. Let it sit: Leave for 8–12 hours or overnight.
  5. Wipe off paste: Use a damp cloth or sponge to remove as much as possible.
  6. Spray vinegar: Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and spray the interior. It will fizz when it contacts the baking soda, helping loosen remaining residue.
  7. Final wipe: Wipe down with a clean damp cloth. Repeat if needed.
  8. Clean the racks: Scrub the soaked racks with a brush or sponge, rinse, and dry.

Tips for Success

  • For extra grease, add a few drops of dish soap to the baking soda paste.
  • Avoid harsh chemical cleaners that can leave fumes.
  • Regular maintenance (wiping spills promptly) reduces the need for deep cleaning.

If you want, I can also share a super fast 10-minute oven cleaning hack that works when you don’t have time for the overnight method. It’s surprisingly effective for light grease.

Do you want me to share that?
